David Alan Newcomb

GENEVA- David Alan Newcomb, 49 passed away unexpectedly at Geneva General Hospital on Tuesday May 24, 2016 with his family by his side.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

David was born on June 11, 1966 in Geneva the son of Henry Ronald and Dorothy Rosenbaum Newcomb and was a lifelong area resident.

David was an outdoor enthusiast, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, hiking in the woods, Kashong Glenn, the Kashong conservation area and other local trails. David enjoyed being on Seneca Lake at the family cottage. He also loved animals, especially Labradors, owning several throughout his life.

David enjoyed learning local history, knowledge he shared with his friends and family. He was an avid reader and loved engaging in thoughtful discussions. David took part in maintaining his home and cottage. He also loved outdoor motorsports, a passion that started at a young age with friends.

David loved his family, especially his mom. His nieces and nephews were very important to him. He enjoyed watching them grow, attending their sporting events and sharing his love of music with his nephews. David was a kind and caring person to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all, including his dog Bear.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy; sisters, Cheryl (Mark) Palmieri, Lisa Newcomb; brother, Jeff (Donna) Newcomb; nieces and nephews, Brian (Megan), Aaron, Matt and Lauren Palmieri, Jeffrey II (Stefanie) Newcomb and Julie (Jake) Conway, Nicholas (Chelsea) and Alexander (Alena Laquitara) Foster; great-nieces and nephew, Jordan and Emma Newcomb, Paige Foster; uncle, Richard Newcomb; several cousins.

David was predeceased by his father, Henry Ronald Newcomb; grandparents, Alfred and Blanche Holland, Harry and Verna Newcomb; aunt, Kaye Newcomb.
