GENEVA- Richard “Blackie” Knowlton, age 90 of Geneva passed away on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at Geneva General Hospital.

There will be no prior calling hours. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Richard was born on July 25, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late William and Carrie Knowlton. He served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from NY Telephone after over 40years.

He was a member of the Winnek Post 396 American Legion Geneva, Canoga Sportsman Club and was an avid Hunter & Fisherman.

He is survived by his daughters, Cathy “Kate” Knowlton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Nancy Carlson of Allentown, PA; four grandchildren, Brett and Alison, Brooke and David; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Charlotte, Aiden and Jaxon; Sister, Diana Vondra of Iowa; longtime friend, Stephen Mahan of Geneva; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife, Norma Knowlton; son, David Knowlton; brother, Thomas Knowlton.
