Obituary for David M. Iannopollo

GENEVA-SYRACUSE- David M. Iannopollo, age 61, of Syracuse formerly of Geneva passed away unexpectantly on Friday April 28, 2023 at home.

Family and friends may call on Thursday (May 4th) from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas P. Mull will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Francis-St. Stephen’s School or Hungryformusic.org

David was born in Geneva on February 5, 1962 the son of the late Cosmo F. and Murel (Brunson) Iannopollo. He was a 1980 graduate of Geneva High School. David worked numerous jobs throughout his life including construction with his dad and then his brother and finally in insurance and financial planning. He was a very talented, self-taught, guitar player and cook and enjoyed sharing both with his family and friends. Of his many hobbies, David loved traveling and finding the best places to eat at each destination. While at home, he prided himself on spoiling his cats Dino and Tessio.

He is survived by his siblings, Terry Soccio of Geneva, Joseph (Roxanne) Iannopollo of Stanley, Toni (David Strouse) Iannopollo of Geneva, Cosmo (Yolanda) Iannopollo, Jr. of Border City; nephews William, Joseph, Steven, Cosmo, III and niece Andrea; 11 great-nieces and nephews.
David is predeceased by his father, Cosmo F Iannopollo, Sr, mother, Murel M Iannopollo, his longtime companion, Norma Ryan, and his cat, Clemenza.
