Obituary for Domingo Leon Sr.
GENEVA/LYONS- Domingo Leon, Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning September 13, 2021
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (Sept.18) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to; Our Lady of Peace Parish or the American Cancer Society.
Domingo was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on August 4, 1931 the son of the late Casimiro Leon-Martinez and Olympia Hernandez-Martinez.
Domingo retired after 33 years from the Seneca Army Depot as a Special Weapons Handler. He was an active member of the Catholic Community, who was an avid church goer through-out the area. Domingo loved playing cards, horseshoes, gardening, cornhole, cooking traditional Puerto Rican food and taking trips to the Racino. He was always sought out by family and friends to put on a Pig Roast for everyone.
Domingo, most of all loved his family and spending time with them and was very proud of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Domingo (Juana) Leon, Jr. of Flowery Branch, GA, Ricardo (Dianne) Leon of
Lexington, Ohio, Graviel “Pooch” (Maureen) Leon of Lancaster, NY, Adelaida “Laila” (Steven) Paliotti of Lyons, Trina (Paul) DiDuro of Victor, Sandra Knipper of Clifton Springs; grandchildren, Tara Leon, Juan D. (Adyssa) Valentin II, Tiffany (Jason) Forte, Aaron (Tara) Leon, Amanda (Luke) LeRoy, Eric ( Kaylin) Leon, Ashley N. (Andy) Coggins, Ashley L. Leon, Emily Knipper, Alexandria Knipper, Audrey Leon; great-grandchildren, Mason, Morgan, Tiana, Wayne, Brynn, Ethan, Carter, Juaquin, Salma, Sophia, Layton, Noelle, Leo, Quinn; siblings, Miguel Leon, Benita Leon, Josefa Cartagena, Teofila Leon; Several nieces, nephews and cousins who reside in Puerto Rico.
Domingo was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Cristina T. Leon; son-in-law, Paul Knipper; brother, Santos H. (Elba) Leon; sisters, Christina Leon, Felicita Reyes.
