FAIRPORT/GENEVA- E. Louis Guard, age 85, of Fairport passed away on Thursday March 24, 2022 at St. Ann’s Home in Rochester.
Family and friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday (April 11) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m.in St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas P. Mull will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Edward (Lou to his family and friends) was born in Geneva on February 5, 1937 the son of the late Louis H. and Cleta F. (Murphy) Guard. Lou graduated from DeSales High School (1954) and the University at Buffalo (1959) with a degree in Business Administration, he was a past Vice President of Kappa Sigma Kappa and Gamma Phi fraternities.
Lou resided in Rochester and worked for Sibley, Lindsay & Curr Co. Prior to entering college he worked with his father at Guard’s Pharmacy, S.A. Gilberts Jewelers and on the sales staff of Alan Guard Real Estate. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1961 thru 1967 and received an honorable discharge. Lou retired after 20 years from Rochester Institute of Technology as the Director of Admissions. He continued his lifelong real estate career in the Rochester area working with the Douglas Blue Agency and Re/Max.
He is survived by brothers, Robert (Patricia) Guard of Geneva and Thomas (Josie) Guard of Geneva; Sister-in-Law Deborah (Seymore) Guard of Iowa. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by very dear friends Donald and Bonnie Haney of Fairport..
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Louis H. and Cleta F. Guard; brothers, Howard, Alan (Betty Furr) and Patrick Guard.
