Obituary for Ernest A. D'Amato
GENEVA – Ernest A. D’Amato, age 90, passed away on Friday February 11, 2022 in Rochester.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held for immediate family at his home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Ernest was born on September 6, 1931 in Orange, NJ the son of the late Henry and Josephine (Schillizzi) D’Amato. He served 8 ½ years in the N.J. National Guard and was a Mechanic by trade.
He married Gloria Marie Carolinze and they had five children. Henry (Linda), Ernie (Susan), Patricia D’Amato, Wende (Rick) Fies and Gloria (Randy) Warne.
He moved to New York with his family and worked at Boyce, Sheridan Oil, Eisenhower College, Goulds Pumps and Seneca Lake Country Club. Ernest also had his own snowmobile business.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria and his five children. Also survived by his sister, Marie McIvor of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
