Obituary for George A. Bunce
GENEVA- George A. Bunce, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 8, 2021 at Geneva General Hospital.
Friends and family may call on Sunday (Sept.12) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday (Sept.13) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum.

George was born on September 16, 1940 in Seneca Falls the son of the late William and Eudora Penoyer Bunce. He graduated from Mynderse Academy in 1960, Delhi College in 1963 and retired after many years from Seneca Falls Machine Company.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church, 3rd degree Knights of Columbus Geneva Council #272 and Big Brothers of America. Along with his wife, Carol, they taught religion at St. Stephen’s for several years. George loved cooking, spending time with family, his animals and especially his beloved dog, Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Goodman Bunce who were married on September 12, 1964; son, Shawn (Billie Jo) Bunce of Geneva; brother, Kevin Bunce of Seneca Falls; sister-in-law, Donna Pocai of Seneca Castle; beloved niece, Vikki (Ralph) Wise of Farmington; grandchildren, Alison (Jeffery) Jensen of Geneva, Evan (Amanda) Switzer of Waterloo, Kyle (Emily) Bunce of Geneva.
George was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly Bunce Switzer; brothers, Jack Bunce and William Bunce.
