Obituary for George Edward O'Neil
GENEVA- George Edward O'Neil, 81of Geneva passed away on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at the Living Center South, Geneva.
Graveside services will be held on Friday (Oct. 29) at 11:00 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery.
George was born in Geneva May 11,1940 the son of the late Oscar and Ruth (Laws) O'Neil.
He attended Geneva High School. Worked and retired from International Paper Company. He was a long-time member of Northside Fire Company. After retirement George enjoyed working at Sampson Air Force Base Museum. But best times were spent enjoying time with family and friends. In his younger years traveling to California, Texas and Pennsylvania to visit them.
George is survived by 2 sons Jeffrey Nielsen (Jody) and Michael Nielsen (Dana); grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey Jr, Nicholas and Daniel; great grandchildren, Nicholas Jr, Aubree, Alex, Carter, Letti and Cullen; brother, James R. O'Neil (Susan) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Oscar and Ruth O'Neil; sisters, Mary Meaden, Marjorie Streppa, Beckie Malyj and brother William O'Neil.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Living Center South for all they did to provide a loving caring home for George for the past few years.
