Obituary for Ora Sperber

GENEVA- It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ora Sperber on March 8, 2021. She was the widow of Daniel Sperber.

A native of Israel, she served in the Israeli army as a lieutenant before becoming a teacher. She came to the United States as an exchange teacher where she met and married Dan. She taught Hebrew school in Chicago for 7 years before they moved to Troy, NY where she taught at Temple Israel for 40 years. She also ran the Hebrew School of Berith Sholom in Troy for many years.

After retirement, she and Dan moved to Geneva, NY to be close to her son and grandson. She is survived by her son, Ron Sperber, her daughter, Tammy Baran, her sister Nira Yuval-Davis, her grandson Nathan Sperber her sister-in-law Alyssa Leshem, and her daughter-in-law, Laura Sperber.
