Obituary for Paul F. Long

GENEVA- Paul F. Long, age 76 of Geneva passed away on Sunday January 20, 2019 at Geneva General Hospital.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 24) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Members of the American Legion will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday (Jan.25) with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Parish or the American Heart Association.

Paul was born on March 14, 1942 in Geneva the son of the late Paul D. and Charlotte Robbins Long. He attended St. Francis & DeSales Schools and Geneva High School. Paul served in the US Army from 1962-1968 in the 3rd Armored Infantry Division as a M-60 Tank Driver in Schweinfurt Germany 1962-1964.
Paul worked for many years for Fratto’s Construction and Phelps Cement Company. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Winnek Post 396 American Legion. He enjoyed Bowling, Fishing, Hunting and loved his Country Music. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary; son, James Crossno of Penn Yan; grandchildren, James Paul (Ashley) Crossno and Steven Crossno of Geneva, Cheyenne (Scott) Crossno of Ithaca; great-grandchildren, Tianna and Kinley Crossno, Hannah Crippen, Nolan and Clair Crossno; brother, Thomas (Frankie) Long of Romulus; brother-in-law’s, David (Jennie) Mills of Arkansas, Richard Mills of Geneva; nieces & nephews, Billie Long of Massachusetts, Paul S. (Sheryl) Long of Virginia, Lisa Mills of Geneva, Dennis (Traci) Peters of Lyons, Lori Krone of Geneva, Scott (Selena) Krone of Ovid, Crystal Clark of Geneva, Paige Wright of Geneva, Patrick Long and Patricia Long of Virginia; special great-grandnephew, Mason; many good friends including his hunting buddy, Ron Kosienski of Dundee.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Paul & Charlotte; brother & sister-in-law, John L. & Georgeanna Long; sister-in-law, Linda Krone. Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erwin & Mary Mills.
