Obituary for Shirley A. Hefferon (McGuigan)
Geneva - Shirley A. (McGuigan) Hefferon of Geneva passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the age of 90 with her family by her side.
According to her wishes, there will no prior calling hours. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Shirley was born on May 20, 1932 to Clarence and Florence Plumb McGuigan. On October 27, 1956 she married the love of her life, Robert Hefferon, and they were always by each other’s side until his death in 2018.
She was formerly employed at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station until her marriage and then became a homemaker, raising their two daughters.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Debra (Michael) DeRaddo of Geneva; grandchildren, Michael DeRaddo and Kevin DeRaddo of Geneva, Kimberly Rowles of Buffalo and Rebecca Rowles of Canandaigua; great grandson, Mason Goodman of Canandaigua; sister, Doris Leonard; brother Richard (Suzanne) McGuigan; sister-in-law Carol McGuigan (all of Geneva); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents; husband, Robert Hefferon; daughter, Linda Rowles; brothers, Glenn (Shirley) McGuigan, James (Diane) McGuigan Sr. and Robert McGuigan; infant sister, Linda McGuigan; brother-in-law, Robert Leonard; sister-in-law, Florence (Richard) Moll; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Anna Beamish Hefferon.
