Susan M. Secore
GENEVA- Susan M. Secore, age 68, of Geneva went home to the Lord on Monday October 11, 2021 at Geneva General Hospital with daughter, Trisha and granddaughter, Allison by her side.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday (October 18) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St., Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow calling hours at 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Susan was born on December 3, 1952 in Rochester the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eleanor Aman Secore. At age 11, Sue found out she had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, which affected her throughout her whole life with countless surgeries and residual ailments. Sue moved to Wellsville, NY where she was a co-owner/operator of the Beef Haus established in 1978 then later sold the company, in 1992. She moved back to Rochester for a short period of time. Then in 2001, moved to Geneva to live with her daughter, Trisha, and her family.

Sue was an avid Catholic and was a true child of God, praying and attending mass daily. Next to God, her family meant everything to her. She loved being “Mom”, “Grandma Suzie” and most of all, “GiGi”. Sue loved everyone and wanted the best for anyone she met. Despite her pain, she was always full of spirit and heart. She was a defender of unborn babies.

She is survived by her daughters, Trisha (Robert) Koczent of Geneva and Stacey (Gary) Stratton of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Zachary Koczent, Allison (C.J. Lorder) Koczent and Jillian Coleman; great grandchildren, Jace Lorder and Grace Lorder; siblings, Paul (Jody) Secore, Peggy Terry, Kathryn (Daniel) Szymusiak, Jane (Jeffery) Commisso, Monica (Thomas) Erbland, Matthew (Susan) Secore, Andrew (Debra) Secore, Melanie DiBenedetto. Also, her loving aides that assisted her daily, Pam Libertore and Rose Perry.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Eleanor; granddaughter, Justice Coleman; brother, Peter Secore.

Memorial gifts, in Susan’s name, may be made to either Our Lady of Peace Parish in Geneva or Pediatric Rheumatology at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester.
