Obituary for William Louis "Bill" Payne

GENEVA- William Louis Payne, Jr., passed away at home on Wednesday September 29, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children.

Bill was born in Baldwinsville, NY and joined the US Marine Corp at 17.

Bill met is beloved wife Carla and shared a wonderful life of 48 years. Upon his discharge from the military, Bill and Carla traveled the United States and opened numerous businesses, including building and running a shrimp boat off the Gulf of Saint Petersburg Beach in Florida. This was one of the happiest times together. Bill was a skilled scuba diver instructor and owned and operated another business named “Underwater Unlimited”.
After having a son in Vero Beach, they returned to New York to grow their family. After settling down in Geneva,

Bill and his life long friend Bill Stobie, opened the American Academy of Martial Arts. Bill worked at many supervisory positions at Geneva Foundry, North American Filtration and Volplex. Bill loved golf as well as being an avid outdoorsman. He was very active in many motorcycle organizations and clubs. Bill served in the Marine Corp for several years serving multiple tours in Vietnam between 1966 and 1971 and was a highly decorated combat vet.

He is survived by his wife Carla DiDuro Payne; son, Billy Payne; daughter, Brandy (Scott) Payne Bloom; grandchildren, Tayah Payne, Scottie Bloom and Luciana Bloom; sister, Bonnie Pyke; sister-in-law, Tina (Jimmie) DiDuro Dagnesi; brother-in-law’s, Steve (Penny) DiDuro, Anthony (Judy) DiDuro, Paul (Trina) DiDuro, Vinnie (Brandy) DiDuro; devoted friend, Kim Eddington and his extended camp ground family.

Bill will be forever missed by his many friends. Bill was a true warrior and the best husband and father anyone could wish for!

Per the family wishes, there will be no calling hours but a celebration of life at a future date.
